Beginning September 7th and continuing through mid-October, Kebler Pass Construction Closures will be scheduled. This portion of the pass sustained serious damage during heavy rains in the spring of 2015. Emergency repairs were made at the time, but a more permanent fix is necessary. Unfortunately, the pass will be closed during a normally very busy time for Crested Butte with a high number of travelers expected to visit the area. The impact on tourism will hopefully be minimized by limiting closures to weekdays only. The pass will be closed from the winter trailhead on the east side to Splains Gulch on the west side. Crews will be working on repairing the road from 8am to 5:30pm Monday through Thursdays and from 8am to 12:30pm on Fridays. Kebler Pass will be open from 12:30pm on Fridays until 8am Mondays. During the weekday closures, there will be scheduled time slots where travelers can pass through, alternating between one open lane, however travelers are to expect delays during the week. The construction schedule is as follows:
8 – 10 am – CLOSED
10 – 10:30am – OPEN
10:30am – 12:30pm – CLOSED
12:30 – 1pm – OPEN
1 – 3pm – CLOSED
3 – 3:30pm – OPEN
3:30 – 5:30pm – CLOSED
5:30pm – 8am – OPEN
