The Quarter Report – Second Quarter 2016 has been published by Benson Sothebys International Realty. In the second quarter, town homes, condos and single family homes in Crested Butte have all increased in value – with Single family homes increasing by over 50% compared to this time last year. The summer is typically the height of the selling season, however this summer we have seen an increase in number of homes sold (compared to last year) as well as an increase in the price of homes selling. Also helping an upward trend, Crested Butte is experiencing on of it’s busiest summer tourism years ever and interest rates are at a record low. Through the second quarter (in the upper valley), there were $77.6 million in total sales volume, which represents total of 156 transactions, reflecting in an 18% increase in sales volume this year! Benson Sothebys has been involved in 114 of 312 of transaction sides and holds 40% of the total sales volume in 2016 through the second quarter.
