It’s that time of year again! The 2nd Annual Fat Bike Worlds Kicks Off in Crested Butte. Watch this short video for a recap of last year’s events. On Wednesday, January 24th, the party starts with a kick off party at the Brick Oven Pizzeria and Pub (223 Elk Avenue) at 5:30 pm. Pick up your race packets and enjoy free beer as well as the segment in Warren Miller’s Here, There, Everywhere film from last year’s Fat Bike Worlds. Thursday, the North Village Race will take place. This race is designed for individuals as well as teams of 2 or 4. Take 8 laps around the 2.5 mile groomed course for a total of 20 miles. This race includes a commemorative bib, event cup, free beer, burgers and brats as well as prizes. The after party will be held at Montanya Distillers (212 Elk Avenue) at 5:30pm. Friday is demo day! You don’t have to be an elite fat bike athlete to participate in this popular event. Try out one (or a few) of the newest fat bikes on the market at the North Village track from 10-3, then hit the after party at the Avalanche Bar and Grill (base area) at 5:30 pm. The big event – Fat Bike World Championships will take place on Saturday January 28th at the East Side/Town Ranch track. The Awards ceremony and after party will take place at Bonez (130 Elk Ave) at 6:30 pm. Sunday wraps up this years festivities with a downhill bike course including berms and booters at Crested Butte Mountain Resort.
