We are Never-Never Land
You’ve probably heard it before, “we live in Never-Never Land”. And really, we do. But what makes the Gunnison Valley so special? Well, it’s the people of course. There are the “Freeriders” like Mary Boddington and Tom Runcie for example, who live here because this mountain lets them be the best they can be by pushing their limits, and the limits of the sports they love. And then you have the “Rad Dads” such as Gary Pierson and Murray Wais who share the stoke of the mountains with their kids and show us that having a family doesn’t slow you down one bit. We also have the “Builders”, entrepreneurs like Morgan and Caleb Weinberg of Romp Skis who took their love of the mountains and passion for skiing and built a flourishing ski company that specializes in building cutting edge skis that can live up to the extreme expectations of those who ski this rugged mountain. And last but not least, we have the “Student”. With Western State Colorado University just down Highway 135 in Gunnison, we get our share of college students looking for the next outdoor adventure, whether that be snowboarding, skiing, mountain biking, rafting or whatnot, they area here to work hard and play just as hard.
