Chili & Beer Festival
It’s that time of year again. This weekend is the 19th Annual Chili & Beer Festival, held right here in Mt. Crested Butte at the base of Crested Butte Mountain Resort. For many, the Chili & Beer Festival is the official kickoff to the fall season and definitely a not-to-be-missed party. Local cooks are cooking up their best batches of chili, often starting days before the festival gets underhand. Craft breweries from all over Colorado will be showcasing their favorite brews and ciders. So grab a few friends, hop on the free town shuttle and head up to the base area for scrumptious locally made chili, tasty craft brews and crisp ciders from across Colorado and of course, great live music. Gates open at 11:30 and the festival starts at noon so be sure to get your tickets early by visiting the Chili & Beer Festival website. Enjoy all the chili you can eat, tasting all the different varieties. Drink as much beer and cider as you like and don’t forget to vote for your favorites. The festival closes at 4:00pm (or when the chili & beer runs out). Winners will be announced toward the end of the festival.
