Temperatures are dropping and many are wondering if we might see some snow in the forecast for Crested Butte. While there has been buzz about possible storms coming through Colorado this weekend, it looks like they are staying north. According to meteorologist Joel Gratz of Open Snow, the dry partly sunny weather pattern will remain through the weekend. For those still winterizing their properties, this may be great news. With several Colorado ski resorts either already open or opening this weekend, snow in the forecast is a wonderful thing. With colder temperatures expected toward the end of next week, the forecast is constantly changing. The anticipated amounts of snow for the southern mountains has adjusted down from original forecasts. The forecast for Halloween and trick-or-treaters is looking colder but still dry. The best chance for snow will come toward the end of the week, after Halloween. Crested Butte Mountain Resort’s opening day is less than a month away and we’re watching the forecast closely. Three Colorado resorts are already open to skiers thanks to the October 10th storm that came through. Click here for a complete list of Colorado resorts and their opening days.
