Mt. Crested Butte may be getting a new four star hotel in the near future. The owners of the Nordic Inn have proposed some major changes to the current PUD (planned unit development). If approved, construction on a new high-end, resort-quality, hotel could begin as early as 2021.

A plan was presented to the Mt. Crested Butte Town Council on March 19th by developer Peter Jago and his attorney. The changes proposed include re-orientation of the parking lot, and additional underground parking. Also proposed was a new conference facility and adjustments to the building’s location and appearance. While the proposal for the hotel includes around 152 mountain view units, approximately 5,000 square feet will be dedicated to workforce housing. Other amenities include a coffee shop, on-site restaurant and of course the additional underground parking. The project is estimated to cost between $50 million and $70 million.
