It was announced this week that the Mueller Family has sold the North Village parcel in Mt. Crested Butte. Located at the base of Snodgrass Mountain, this 158 acre parcel is zoned as a Planned Unit Development (PUD). Originally, the Muellers had planned on this land being a second ski area village with lift access. Their vision included commercial and retail space as well as up to 1,800 residential units. However, the U.S. Forest Service wasn’t on board with the idea of growing the ski area to include a second village at Snodgrass.

The sale of the North Village closed on June 7th after 238 days on the market. According to the Gunnison County Multiple Listing Service (MLS), it sold for $5.3 million. That is well below the original asking price of $8.9 million. While loose ends with town are being tied up, it will be interesting to see how the development of this parcel takes shape over the next few years.
