Spring is in the air which has us all thinking about where to find the best end-of-season events. The longer, warmer days are perfect for spring skiing and apré ski activities. From the front range to right here in our own backyard, there are plenty of fun end-of-season events and activities to add to your calendar. Some of our favorite local end-of-season events include Flauschink, Sleds And Kegs, and of course the Pond Skim.
The Mac Dogs Sleds And Kegs has been dubbed “The Most Colorado Celebration of The Season”. We’re excited to see it coming back for its seventh year on March 25th. This fundraising event has become a local favorite and has grown substantially over the years.
Head over to Kochevar’s on March 31st for the 55th Annual Flauschink Ball. It’s always fun to watch the crowning of the new Kind and Queen of Flauschink! Afterwards, dance the night away to the Pete Dunda Polka Band.
And of course, you won’t want to miss the Crested Butte Pond Skim. This year on, on April 1st, skiers and snowboarders will don crazy costumes and try their luck to see who can skim the furthest across the man-made pond at the bottom or Warming House Hill. Spectators line the side of the course all the way up the hill to catch a glimpse of the best costume, the best splash and of course to see who makes it the furthest. The best seats we think are on the deck of Butte 66!
