Flauschink is here and the 2022/2023 ski season is coming to an end. And what a season it was! Not only did we surpassed 300″ of snow for the season, we opened ‘Wall-to-Wall’ for the first time since the 2016/2017 season. Crested Butte will be celebrating the final week of ski season and beginning of spring in true Crested Butte fashion; with costumes, royalty and dancing! Born into tradition in 1969, Flauschink was dreamed up by a handful of locals. It was a way to “flush out” the winter as well as celebrate another great ski season that had come and gone. Now, 55 year later, the tradition and festivities continue each spring. More than just another excuse to “get it on and party” Flauschink has become an annual ritual. A way for us to “flush winter down the drain” and send off another ski season with a bang.
We’re also excited to announce that our own Team Coordinator, Erin Croke, was the artist for this year’s Flauschink Button! Her design/artwork was chosen in the annual button design contest and represents the ski area being open ‘Wall-to-Wall’. You’ll need a button to get into the Flauschink events so pick yours up today! Buttons can be purchased at any of the local watering holes, the Crested Butte Museum, and local liquor stores.
