Included in this are upscale subdivisions such as the Upper and Lower Highlands, Hidden Mine Ranch, Whetstone Mountain Ranch, Red Mountain Ranch, and several others as well as the Skyland golf club community.

Rural Communities Near Town

Riverbend ~ A small community, just one mile south of Crested Butte, Riverbend offers a selection of single family homes and condos which each include fishing rights on the Slate River. This neighborhood also offers nordic trails in the winter and bike paths in the summer, providing opportunities for convenient recreation year round.

Riverland ~ South of Riverbend and across the highway from the Skyland golf community, Riverland sits along the banks of the Slate River. This area is zoned for commercial buildings as well as residential properties.

Slate River Road
Slate River Road is known as the gateway to Paradise. The road leads to Paradise Divide and the Gunnison National Forest providing year round access to recreation for the  Slate River Road communities of Alpine Meadows and Wildbird. Within minutes, residents of these communities can be in the backcountry on skis, snowmobiles, mountain bikes or fishing along the Slate River. There is easy access to hiking and biking trails in the Lower Loop trail system and the Lupine trail. 

Washington Gulch
The Washington Gulch provides “out the back door” access to the Gunnison National Forest and the Paradise Divide. Neighborhoods in Washington Gulch include Meridian Lake Park, Meridian Lake Meadows and Pristine Point, which all have convenient access to the outdoors and endless possibilities for hiking, mountain biking, snowmobiling and skiing.

Gothic Corridor
The Gothic Corridor encompasses the smaller subdivisions and individual homes situated along Gothic Road between the towns of Crested Butte and Mt. Crested Butte. The majority of single family homes in this area sit on an acre or more of land with views of the West Elk Mountain Range and/or down valley views. Subdivisions along the Gothic Corridor include Moon Ridge, Glacier Lily Estates, Saddle Ridge Ranch, and the Three Valleys subdivision. The location between the two towns offers maximum convenience to everything that the area has to offer. Skiing, mountain biking, shops, dining and more are conveniently available within minutes.

Golf Communities

Two miles south of Crested Butte, the golfing communities of Skyland and Buckhorn Ranch are located in an expansive meadow at the base of the mountain. The Skyland neighborhood in intertwined with The Club at Crested Butte. The Club offers over 160 acres of pristine wilderness. A tranquil and luxurious setting of mountain views, trout filled lakes and aspen groves host some of the finest homes in the valley. Skyland is a luxurious subdivision that surrounds the Robert Trent Jones II Championship Golf Course. Owners in the golfing communities are not required to be members of The Club, but many residents choose to enjoy the extensive benefits of membership. The Club at Crested Butte also has a premier ski in/ski out facility, SlopeSide, located at Crested Butte Mountain Resort. Buckhorn Ranch is set further back from the highway, south and east of Skyland. Buckhorn Ranch is home to Crested Butte’s only small private air strip.
